The cheer program is divided into the following 6 divisions

SPCYA 2015 Cheer Season Information

  • All Football/Cheer games are usually on Saturday
The San Pablo Cowboys Youth Association's (SPCYA) Cheer Program is based on commitment, dedication and hard work.  We consider our program to be a sport.  With this in mind, we require that you understand the following commitments and expectations: 
  • The estimated cost of the cheer uniform is $375 -- that includes the skirt, vest, pom poms, socks, one pair of briefs, bow, shoes, and the cropped body suit
  • Check back on our website for uniform fitting dates and locations
  • A parent/guardian and cheerleader must attend a uniform fitting
  • Cheerleaders are not allowed on the field without a physical card.
The Cheer Uniform includes:

 The SPCYA Cheerleaders may be invited to several cheer competitions that are not sponsored by AYF and their costs are not included in the SPCYA participation fees.  The actual dates and costs for these competitions are not usually available until well after sign-ups.

    • JAMZ National Cheer Competition is in Las Vegas, NV January 22 - January 26, 2015
  • Placement for Cheerleaders
    • Requests for a particular squad may be submitted, but understand it is simply a request.  Coaches and the Board of Directors will decide on which squad each cheerleader will be placed on after all considerations have been take.
    • Cheerleaders will be placed on an individual team using a variety of factors, some of which are age, experience, and participating siblings.  Board members will also balance the teams in size and strengths, so that each team has the opportunity for success.
    • As your child's team is formed please be assured that we have experienced, enthusiastic coaches at each level.
    • If a cheerleader misses 3 games, or if she incurs more than 3 unexcused practices during the month of August, she may be dismissed from the program.


The SPCYA's current Cheer Coordinator is Brandy Marshall.  Parents:

  • if you have any problems or concerns, try to speak to your child's coach.
  • if you are unable to resolve an issue after speaking with your child's coach, contact the Cheer Coordinator or the Chairman of the Board, Ronellyn Junius or go to the Contact Us page on the SPCYA website at for additional contact information or to send an email.  



    • July 27, 2015 -- the first day of practice
    • 5:00 - 7:00pm
    • Held every day (Monday -Friday) until school starts (TBA)
    • All practices mandatory
    • Excessive absences from practice may cause a child to be removed from games and/or the team.
    • Please be on time to practice, and prompt to pick up your child at 7:00pm.
    • Parents remaining at practice will be seated behind the fence.
  • Practice Attire:
    • Cheerleaders should wear comfortable shorts or sweat pants, T-shirt or sweatshirt with tennis shoes (No Nike dunks/High tops, flat canvas shoes, no shoes without laces).  
    • Cheer shoes are highly recommended; Payless Shoe Source carries cheer shoes or Wal-Mart dance skins (white) shoe very light weight; See your coach if you have any questions.
    • No jewelry of any kind, any knocker calls, barrettes, beads fake nails, natural nails must be clipped short.
    • Hair must be in a pony tail.  
    • Parents if your child has any medical issues, please let coaches know (i.e. asthma, diabetes, etc.).
    • Parents will be responsible to administer medications.
  • Cheerleaders need the following items for everyday practice:
    • Carrying a bag for belongings
    • Water (2 water bottles for hot days)
    • Oranges or fruit
    • Small snack for after practice.

Cheerleading Requirements

The following documents are required to Cheer:

  1. Complete Registration Form
  2. Birth Certificate (certified original)
  3. Medical Clearance Form
  4. Emergency Medical Treatment/Consent Information Form
  5. Copy of June 2015 Report Card
  6. Image Release
  7. Waiver and Release
  8. Registration Fees - $375
  9. Volunteer Fee - $50 (receive $50 rebate at end of season upon completion and validation of your volunteer hours)
